FAQs
Do I need to have my loved one present for the session?
1
Not necessarily. Many sessions are with adult children planning on behalf of a parent. If your loved one is able and willing to participate, their presence can be helpful — but it's not required.
Is this the same as an occupational therapy evaluation?
2
No. This is an educational strategy session, not a clinical OT assessment. We focus on general home safety education and family planning support. For a formal clinical evaluation, you would need a referral through your loved one's healthcare provider.
Do you take insurance?
3
Sessions are private pay only and are not billed through insurance. Payment is due at the time of booking.
Do I need to prepare anything before my session?
4
No prep required — just come as you are. If you want to make the most of our time together, it can help to jot down your top concerns or questions beforehand, or do a quick walk through the main areas of your home with fresh eyes. But there's no homework, no forms to fill out, and nothing you need to have figured out in advance.
If you'd like a structured starting point, our free 5 Most Dangerous Fall Hazards in Your Home checklist walks you through the most common hazards room by room — download it free on our homepage. Completely optional, but a great way to go into your session feeling prepared.
